Product description
The origin of the cheese lies in the Seine-et-Marne area, around the town of Coulommiers, where the cheese used to be offered on the market. It is marketed by some producers under the name Brie de Coulommiers.
The Coulommiers is a lot smaller than the Brie, with its 14 cm diameter it is between the Brie and the Camembert. The taste of the cheese is slightly stronger than that of the Brie, the ripening of the cheese is faster (3-4 weeks) than with the Brie.
